Welcome Prospective Scouts!

We are a medium size, boy-led troop which conducts has a very active program.  There is at least one planned troop activity per month, as well as opportunities for patrol gatherings.  Our Troop Committee actively facilitates the youth and adult leadership, to ensure a quality program.

The Troop will provide all major equipment for outdoor camping such as tents, stoves, lanterns, fuel and the like.  We'll even provide a custom Troop 427 neckerchief.  All personal equipment is supplied by you.  You'll need to provide your own uniform, Boy Scout Handbook, sleeping bag, mat, mess kit, thermos, pocket knife, compass and similar items. All scouts are expected to participate in our annual fundraising popcorn sale, and will receive the surplus profits in the form of credit for troop activities and / or monthly dues.  If you don't want to participate that's fine.  Just cover the minimum profit that would go to the troop.

Our troop attends one week of summer camp each year.  This are additional opportunities to attend additional weeks on a provisional basis.  Bi-yearly elections provides plenty of opportunities for each Scout to hold leadership positions.  Scouts are encouraged to earn merit badges either individually or as a group.

If joining in March, the registration/dues are $50.00. Yearly troop dues are $195.00 and can be payable in two installments.  All meetings will be held Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM at Nassakeag Elementary School, unless noted otherwise on the schedule.

Our Troop Guide and Scoutmasters take a very active role in guiding new Scouts to fulfill their requirements and help to ease the transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.  Parent volunteers are always welcome.

Troop 427 Mission Statement:

Scouts, Scoutmasters, and the Committee all work hand-in-hand to provide an active program for the troop to participate in trips, community service and rank advancement.   We all take ownership for our individual roles and work together to ensure a quality Scout program.  We take pride in running a true boy-led program and living by the Scout Law and Oath.

If you would like to join, or have any questions about the troop or about Boy Scouts in general, please contact Scoutmaster Chris Pollina at 631-828-2623 or Committee Member Gina Carson at 631-371-6239.
